Memory lane

One of biggest the reasons I love keeping my art journals is so I can look at them down the road. They are great references when I am in need of inspiration and I work out a lot of ideas in them. I still have journals I started when I was in early grade school, and I still manage to gleam ideas from the work in them.

While looking for some old reference drawings for some Christmas cards I'm working on, I came across a few I thought I'd share:

People to People trip to Egypt in 2001

Color test run for a wood nutcracker I painted in 2006

Sixtieth anniversary gift for my husband's grandparents in 2007

Abandoned bike I saw on campus while waiting for the bus in 2008

Commission for the hubby's aunt in 2012
